Remove a watermark from your photo

How it works

1. Upload a photo you own or are licensed to edit.
2. Draw a box around the watermark and let the tool find the text in it, or paint over it with the brush.
3. Fill the area, compare before and after and download.

Works well for

• Date and time stamps burned in by older cameras
• Your own logo or signature on photos you want to reuse
• Small corner watermarks over sky, walls or other plain areas
• Thin, high-contrast text marks

Limitations

• Watermarks tiled across the whole photo cannot be removed – the area limit is 25% of the image
• Large semi-transparent logos over faces or detailed areas leave visible traces
• Details hidden under the mark are not recovered – the area is filled from the surrounding pixels

Frequently asked questions

Am I allowed to remove a watermark?

Use this tool only on images you own or have the rights to, such as your own photos or a stock image you have licensed. It is not meant for removing copyright notices or watermarks from other people’s work – doing so can infringe copyright and breaks our terms of use.

What does finding text in the area do?

You draw a rectangle around the watermark and the tool marks the thin, high-contrast strokes inside it – letters, lines, logo outlines – instead of the whole box. Filling only those strokes keeps more of the original photo. You can add to or trim the marked area with the brush.

Why is part of the watermark still visible?

Soft shadows and semi-transparent parts of a watermark have low contrast and may not be marked. Paint over the remaining trace and fill again; several small steps usually look better than one large fill.

Can I remove watermarks in bulk?

No. Watermark removal is interactive and works on one image at a time in the browser; it is not part of batch processing or the HTTP API.
