About AdScaled BG Remover
A free toolbox that removes backgrounds, objects, metadata, PDF parts and text clutter in your browser with classic algorithms, built and run by the AdScaled agency. Updated 14 October 2026.
What AdScaled BG Remover is
AdScaled BG Remover is a free web toolbox for removing things from files: image backgrounds, small objects, text and watermarks in photos, EXIF and GPS data, author and company properties in PDF and Office documents, PDF pages and hidden PDF parts, and clutter in plain text.
The tools use classic image and document processing algorithms, not artificial intelligence. They run in your browser, so the files you edit stay on your device and are not uploaded. You can use every tool without an account and without a watermark on the result.
How it is funded
The browser tools are free because the work happens on your own computer or phone. A free account raises the limits. The paid Pro plan adds higher limits, batches and an HTTP API that runs the same algorithms on our server for automation; files sent to the API are processed in memory and not stored.
Who runs it
BG Remover is built and operated by AdScaled, a digital agency from Prague that makes websites, e-shops and web applications. AdScaled also runs its own products, such as AdScaled Converter, AdScaled Shop and AdScaled LinkBoard.

What it does not do
Because it does not use AI, BG Remover works best on solid or contrasting backgrounds and small objects. Hair against a busy background, a subject with the same colour as the background or a watermark tiled across a whole photo give poor results; each tool page lists its limits. Remove watermarks or objects only from content you own or have the rights to.
