Remove line breaks

Turns text broken into short lines back into flowing sentences. Each line break becomes a space (or text of your choice) without leaving double spaces.

How it works

Works well for

  • Text copied from PDFs, where every line ends with a hard break
  • E-mails and old documents wrapped at a fixed width
  • Turning a list into one line separated by commas or another text
  • Keeping paragraphs when they are separated by a blank line

Limitations

  • Words hyphenated across lines (“exam-” / “ple”) are not re-joined – the hyphen stays.
  • Paragraphs can only be kept when a blank line separates them; otherwise all lines are joined.
  • Lists, tables and code lose their structure once the lines are joined.

Frequently asked questions

What replaces a line break?

A single space by default. You can enter other text, such as a comma and a space, to turn a list into one line. Spaces around the break are merged, so no double spaces appear.

Can I keep paragraphs?

Yes. With “keep paragraphs” on, two or more breaks in a row become one blank line, and single breaks inside a paragraph are joined.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The text is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.

How much text can I paste?

Up to 1 MB of text without an account, 2 MB with a free account and 10 MB with Pro.
