Finds e-mail addresses and phone numbers in the text and deletes them or replaces them with text of your choice – before you share a document, log or export.

How it works

  1. Paste the text or load a text file.
  2. Choose e-mails, phone numbers or both, and an optional replacement.
  3. Check the result, then copy it or download it as a .txt file.

Works well for

  • Customer messages, logs and exports you need to share without contact details
  • International numbers with + or 00 and numbers grouped with spaces, dots, hyphens or brackets
  • Addresses with subdomains, + tags and non-Latin letters
  • Replacing each item with a placeholder so the text still reads

Limitations

  • Phone detection is pattern-based: unusual formats can be missed and other numbers written like phones can be caught.
  • A long digit run without + or 00 is only treated as a phone when a label such as “tel:” or “phone” is in front of it.
  • Disguised addresses (“name at example dot com”), names and postal addresses are not detected – this is not full anonymisation.

Frequently asked questions

Which phone numbers are recognised?

Numbers with 7 to 15 digits, optionally starting with + or 00, grouped with spaces, dots or hyphens, and area codes in brackets. Dates, year ranges, IP addresses, prices and ISBNs are skipped.

Can I replace them instead of deleting them?

Yes. Type a replacement such as [removed] and it is put in place of each address or number.

Is it safe to paste confidential text?

The text is processed in your browser and never uploaded. Still, check the result: detection follows patterns and can miss unusual formats.

How much text can I process?

Up to 1 MB of text without an account, 2 MB with a free account and 10 MB with Pro. Pro also includes an HTTP API.
