Remove empty lines

Deletes every blank line, including lines that contain only spaces, tabs or invisible characters. The remaining lines keep their order and content.

How it works

  1. Paste the text or load a text file.
  2. Add other cleanups if you need them, for example extra spaces.
  3. Copy the result or download it as a .txt file.

Works well for

  • Text copied from websites, PDFs or e-mails with gaps between every line
  • Lists and exports with empty rows
  • Lines that look empty but contain spaces, tabs, non-breaking or zero-width spaces
  • Windows (CRLF) and Unix line endings – each line keeps its own

Limitations

  • All blank lines go, including the gaps between paragraphs – there is no option to keep one of them.
  • A line with any visible character, even a single dot, counts as content and stays.

Frequently asked questions

Which lines count as empty?

Lines with nothing in them and lines that contain only whitespace: spaces, tabs, non-breaking spaces, zero-width spaces and similar invisible characters.

Will my line endings change?

No. Every remaining line keeps its own line ending, so a Windows file stays CRLF and a Unix file stays LF.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser; the text is not sent to any server.

Is there a size limit?

Up to 1 MB of text without an account, 2 MB with a free account and 10 MB with Pro.
