Remove emojis from text

Finds every emoji – including flags, skin tones and combined family emojis – and deletes it or replaces it with text of your choice. Ordinary symbols like © and ™ stay.

How it works

  1. Paste the text or load a text file.
  2. Leave the replacement empty or type text to put in place of each emoji.
  3. Copy the result or download it as a .txt file.

Works well for

  • Social media posts, chat exports and product reviews
  • Combined emojis: a family, a flag or a thumbs-up with skin tone counts as one
  • Preparing text for systems or fonts that cannot show emojis
  • Removing the gap left behind, so “a 😀 b” becomes “a b”

Limitations

  • Symbols usually shown as text (©, ®, ™, ♥, arrows) stay unless they are written in emoji style.
  • Text emoticons like :-) and shortcodes like :smile: are ordinary characters and stay.

Frequently asked questions

Are ©, ™ and arrows removed too?

No. Characters that are normally shown as plain text symbols are kept. They are only removed when the text explicitly marks them as emoji.

Can I replace emojis instead of deleting them?

Yes. Type a replacement, for example a space or [emoji], and it is put in place of each emoji sequence.

Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser and the text stays on your device.

How much text can I process?

Up to 1 MB of text without an account, 2 MB with a free account and 10 MB with Pro.
